Course Outline
Day 1
Using MAP 4.0 for inventory and planning your upgrade/migration project. Use ACT 5.5 to mitigate application compatibility issues. Installing and configuring MDT 2010 Lite Touch. Importing Operating Systems, drivers and creating the perfect master image. Using selection profiles and generate both boot images and utility images. Using the deployment Wizard in MDT 2010 Lite Touch.
Day 2
Lite Touch with No Touch, automating the deployment process by extending customsettings.ini and bootstrap.ini. Adding support for updates and language packs. Automate MDT 2010 administration using PowerShell. Windows Client and Server deployment. Advanced customization of the Task Sequences.
Day 3
Extending MDT 2010 with SQL databases for replace and refresh scenarios. Customization and configuration of USMT 4.0. Troubleshooting and diagnostics, using the realtime logging feature. Customizing MDT 2010 for virtual environments like, SCVMM, Hyper-V and VMware. Creating offline deployment solutions. Using Task Sequences for non-OS Deployments, like role configuration, features and advanced application sequences. WAIK 2.0, using DISM 2.0. Customizing Windows PE 3.0. |

Prerequisites
Windows deployment experience, sysprep, imaging, scripted setups, drivers and basic understanding of Active Directory and SQL 2008.
Objectives
